Tajaleyat was born in 2020, in the stillness of the early pandemic, when we, an artist couple began creating prayerful artworks to bless and protect our home. What started as a personal act of devotion quickly blossomed into a shared journey: bringing the beauty of Qur’anic verses and Sufi prayers to life in authentic, mindful forms of art.
At the heart of Tajaleyat lies our love for Arabic calligraphy, Islamic ornamentation, and the traditional techniques that carry centuries of meaning. We believe that real art follows the geometry of the universe, and that what resonates in the heart of the creator will resonate in the heart of the beholder.
Working hand in hand, Mamdouh Eid, our principal calligrapher, specializes in Moroccan calligraphy, infusing every letter with spiritual depth and elegance. Gamila Mourad, a graduate of The Prince’s School of Traditional Arts in London, brings mastery in illumination (tazhib) and gold leaf work, adorning each piece with ornaments that reflect divine harmony. Together, we weave calligraphy and ornamentation into artworks that honor tradition while speaking to the present.
Tajaleyat’s vision is to illuminate homes and sacred spaces with art that inspires remembrance of Allah’s grace and love, and of the majesty of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. Each creation is more than decoration; it is a vessel of devotion, an offering of beauty, and a bridge between spirituality and daily life.
